About the team
The Retail Operations team welcomes all its members to have an important voice in the daily decisions of running our shop. This team works in partnership with the Programs team for job creation, the Development and Gathering teams for donor and community engagement, and the Marketing team to spread visibility for Preemptive Love.
This team manages product development - showcasing talent from makers around the world while creating opportunities for business creation and economic growth for those we partner. We also develop apparel/merchandise that provides an avenue for people to wear their peacemaking values every day.

About the Role
The person in this role plays a critical role inside Preemptive Love managing our Empowerment Center in Clarkston, GA and Customer Care for all shop customers. The ideal person for this role is a self-starter who takes initiative, is detail-oriented, and strong in customer service and follow-through; they enjoy digging through the details to streamline and improve processes. All of this will be done in order to provide exceptional customer service and reduce cost.
This is a new role that will need flexibility as we grow the team and the Empowerment Center - a self starter who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done will help to shape the future of this position.The ideal team member would be a strong collaborator, one who works quickly, speaks up with thoughts and ideas on how to best move our team forward. A people first mentality is key - whether it is providing excellent customer care to our patrons or ensuring that the empowerment center staff are supported during the holiday busy period - people matter most at Preemptive Love.
In regards to experience, the ideal candidate would have a background in retail, customer service or hospitality. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. Must demonstrate people leadership experience and ability to cross functionally within a very diverse, distributed organization.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Manage the Empowerment Center
o Oversee build out of retail and business space
o Lead the empowerment center team, ensuring they are connected and engaged with the organization
o Partner with product team to review inventory and deliveries for quality assurance
o Maintain facilities, managing day-to-day location needs as well as longer term upkeep across the full property
o Develop relationships with City of Clarkston and other local businesses to identify partnerships and growth opportunities
o Attend and manage local vendor fairs to promote Preemptive Love Shop and identify potential partners
● Provide customer service and communication
o Shop inquiries (made primarily via email, social media, and drift chats)
o Coordinate and process refunds & exchanges
o Damaged product while in transit
o Tracking customer orders
● Coordinate with Shop Partners
o Inspecting order fulfillment on a weekly basis
o Handling supplier invoicing and payments
o Managing processes for packaging products
o Maintaining inventory and CRM tracking systems, as needed
o Fulfill influencer gifts, handwritten notes, and (manual/internal) orders, as needed
o Send/coordinate giveaways and partnerships
o Coordinate with programming to handle overseas shipments coming through customers
o Coordinate with other departments to supply products for events and other on-location opportunities
● Additional duties as requested
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
● Retail management or equivalent experience
● Results oriented with proven track record of detail orientation, organization, and taking initiative
● Strong team player with the ability to work independently
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
