About the team

It’s an exciting time to join the Marketing team at Preemptive Love. The Marketing team works in partnership with the Communications and Digital Studio teams to create awareness for our global relief efforts, grow our donor base, drive traffic to the Preemptive Love Shop, and support Love Anyway Gatherings. The Marketing team manages all aspects of channel marketing, ensuring that content is distributed to the right audience at the right time through a variety of media including social media, performance marketing, email marketing, and marketing automation. Each individual on the team has the power to make a huge impact in the communities we serve, and works together to drive excellence for the organization.

Job Overview

Essential Function: The Marketing Associate is responsible for the day-to-day administration and tracking  of two key marketing channels - our paid media (in partnership with an external media agency ) and our email marketing and automation through Salesforce Marketing Cloud. In this role you will:

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Act as a key point of contact for our paid media agency. This would be approximately 25% of the role and includes but is not limited to:
  • Creative Collaboration - ensuring our external agency partner has the right assets, details and copy to develop Social and Search ads, and gain approvals from PLC stakeholders 
  • Audience Identification - providing insights into new audiences and segments, as well as key messaging that aligns with the Donor Journey
  • Cross Functional Coordination - collaborating with content development team to identify where paid support is needed and provide briefs / assets to Crowd in a timely manner so they can quickly execute 
  • Meeting Management - coordinating meetings with Crowd and PLC, and ensuring next steps are completed 
• Lead Marketing Cloud administration. This would be approximately 75% of the role and includes but is not limited to:
  • Developing Journeys for our various Donor audiences, as well as our Shop and Love Anyway audiences 
  • Building audience segments for email deployments, while maintaining a clean infrastructure that is in line with expectations and recommendations from our Sr Salesforce and Marketing Cloud Admin 
  • Developing SMS message strategy and deployment to support various Development and Programs requests 
  • Providing support to Sr Salesforce and Marketing Cloud Admin through reporting, data management, and an intense dedication to a pristine CRM database
  • Gauging performance goals, defined by the Marketing Department, and then optimizing / testing aspects of automation assets to reach and exceed goals.
• Update WordPress website with landing pages and posts as needed.
• Collaborate on social influencer strategy and maintain relationships for campaigns.

• Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
• Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM) and applications (WordPress, Web analytics, Google Adwords etc. Google Suite, Box, Marketing Cloud, Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics, Wordpress, Salesforce, SMS marketing experience), and a strong preference for candidates who have familiarity with StoryBrand and journey mapping. 
  

Required education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience as marketing specialist or similar role
• Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools

Language requirements: Fluent in English.

Additional eligibility qualifications:

• Second language (Spanish or Arabic) a plus 
• Remote work experience 
• Prior experience with marketing automation tools, email marketing, SMS marketing, and paid social
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools (e.g. Dreamweaver) desired
